Students enjoyed a Station Day this week. Station Day is the day where students are able to perform the skills they learned and the knowledge they gained the previous month. Students put their football skills on display and worked on some striking, balancing and jump roping skills at other stations. Pre-K was able to work with their fourth grade buddies and impress them with their skills as well. Students were great partners and were very focused during class. Please, ask them about it.
Standard 2 in P.E. deals with strategy. K-4 students are working on throwing at moving targets effectively this week. Students are exploring the differences and similarities of footballs and round balls. Students decide on which one is best. They have done a great job strategizing which type of ball to use, depending on their target and their comfortability level with that type of ball. Students are working out their brains and their bodies! Please, ask them about their class.
Students at all levels have been learning, performing, and applying motor skills using footballs. Kindergarteners could be found throwing and kicking at stationary targets. Second, third and fourth graders threw to stationary and moving targets. Third and Fourth graders also worked on catching skills. We focused on individual improvement and not team score. The students did a wonderful job! Please, ask them about their class. |
